The club and booking
Do I have to join the club?
Every booking joins the DEPTHREX Club for free, which is how you get the member price. Silver, Gold and Trident are optional upgrades. Compare memberships
How do I pay?
A 25% deposit holds your place. Pay the rest by 60 days before arrival, in parts if you like. Booking later than that? Pay in full. Bank transfer or cash, with a receipt every time.
What paperwork do I need?
After you book, fill in the Before you fly form. The dive centre has your forms ready, and you sign them when you arrive. Open the form
Do I need dive insurance?
Yes. It is required for every diver.
What certification do I need?
Open Water or higher. Tell us your level and number of dives, and the dives are planned around you.
Shark Island Week, Fuvahmulah
Is diving with tiger sharks safe?
The dive team has done it every day for years. Every dive starts with a full briefing, and you stay close to your guide.
How do I get to Fuvahmulah?
Fly into Malé. The domestic flight to Fuvahmulah (1 hour 25 minutes) is included, and we book it to match your arrival.
What gear should I bring?
Fins, mask and wetsuit are included. Bring or rent a BCD, regulator and dive computer.
Is alcohol available?
No. Fuvahmulah is a local island, so there is no alcohol. Cover shoulders and knees in town.
Can a non-diver come along?
Message us. Non-divers can join the island day and Tiger Night.
Terms and conditions
- Prices are per person in USD, from the dive centre's 2025 package prices.
- Your place is confirmed only when your 25% deposit is received and you get a receipt.
- The balance is due 60 days before arrival. Not paid by then: we release your place and may sell it, and the deposit is not refunded.
- Club: joining is free. The member price is USD 50 off per diver per trip. A paid membership replaces it with USD 100 off.
- Paid memberships are per diver and last 12 months from payment. Gear rental means the dive centre's standard set (BCD, regulator, computer).
- Trident insurance is paid back against your receipt, up to USD 120 per membership year.
- Bring a diver: USD 75 for each diver who gives your name when booking and completes their trip, paid in cash or taken off your own trip on the same booking.
- Founding 20: the first 20 divers to pay a deposit get Silver free for 12 months.
- Free gift: one per diver, while stock lasts.
- Tiger Promise: if you see no tiger shark on your tiger shark dives, you get one free tiger shark dive on your next trip within 2 years.
- Certified divers only. Dive insurance is required. The dive guide's safety decisions are final, and dives may change with weather and sea conditions.
- Dives, boats and hotels are run by Fuvahmulah Central Dive Center. DEPTHREX arranges your booking.
- Your details are kept to arrange your trip and, if you agree, to send club news. Ask us to delete them anytime.
